MEET SUSAN

Susan falls in love the way other people order coffee — constantly, impulsively, and with complete confidence that this one is different.

She’s bubbly, charming, and emotionally all-in within minutes. Every new relationship feels like fate, every breakup feels deeply unfair, and every red flag somehow looks pink through Susan’s eyes.

Hopelessly romantic and endlessly optimistic, Susan believes love is just around the corner, despite leaving a trail of unfinished relationships behind her. Not because she’s cold, but because she’s far more in love with the feeling of love than the reality of building it.

MEET BERNADETTE

Bernadette lives like a 1950s housewife in a movie that looks prettier than it feels.

Everything in her home has its place. She likes routines, clean countertops, and the illusion of control. Beneath all of that, though, is someone deeply intelligent, creative, and quietly restless — a woman who suspects life was supposed to be bigger than this.

Cigarettes are her crutch. Not out of rebellion, but survival.

Beautiful, sharp and endlessly capable, Bernadette often feels trapped by expectations placed on her by family, community, and the version of herself she’s been performing for years.

MEET LOIS

Lois behaves like the coolest person in the room, even when absolutely no one else agrees.

She’s loud, opinionated, slightly chaotic, and deeply committed to whatever version of herself she invented that week. Lois wants to be mysterious and intimidating, but often lands somewhere closer to awkward theater kid with too much confidence.

There’s a sweetness underneath all of the posturing, though. Beneath the dramatic opinions, questionable flirting, and painfully overcommitted eye contact is someone still trying to figure out who she actually is.

Lois has the energy of a pre-teen trapped in an adult body — feisty, emotional, weirdly brave, and somehow impossible not to root for.

MEET EDGAR

Edgar isn’t complicated. Good whiskey, cigars, pool halls, and staying unbothered are pretty much his entire philosophy.

He’s the kind of guy who somehow knows everybody, never rushes anything, and always looks like he has a story he’s not going to tell you. He shoots pool like it’s a spiritual practice and gives questionable advice with complete confidence.

Nothing really shakes Edgar…

That’s either wisdom or avoidance.

MEET PEGGY

Peggy is sweet. The kind of person who remembers your coffee order, listens carefully, and genuinely wants everyone to get home safe.

She loves roller skating, carries snacks in her bag “just in case”, and has a dog named Milo who goes almost everywhere with her. Calm, cheerful, and refreshingly uncomplicated, Peggy moves through life with a quiet kind of optimism.

Usually with a lollipop in hand.

MEET THEODORE

Theodore is deeply bohemian and extremely intelligent — or at least extremely convinced that he is.

He listens to Bach on vinyl, owns several Persian rugs, and is the kind of person you absolutely want on your team during Trivial Pursuit. Constantly reading and mildly overanalyzing everything, Theodore moves through life with quiet intensity and very specific opinions about coffee beans.

With his round glasses, corduroy pants, red hair, and permanently mismatched socks, Theodore always looks like he just stepped out of a secondhand bookstore carrying three books and an unnecessary amount of existential curiosity.

MEET KYLE

Kyle lives like a surfer who took one wrong exit and accidentally built a life in the Nevada desert.

He owns more linen shirts than practical skills and talks about “catching waves” despite not having seen the ocean in years. Every few months he announces he’s moving to California, usually right after two beers and a sunset.

Laid-back, charming, and emotionally committed to the idea of freedom, Kyle spends most of his life almost becoming the person he wants to be. He’s not lazy exactly — just deeply attached to comfort, routines and the fantasy version of himself.

Somewhere beneath the hesitation, though, is a genuine dreamer. A man quietly hoping life will magically change without him having to do anything too uncomfortable first.
